The AVETH Survival Guide is designed to help (prospective) doctoral students discover the objectives, possibilities and consequences of being an ETH Zurich employee, researcher and teaching assistant. There is now an online version here! Check it out and let AVETH know what you think. We’re always looking for ways to improve our services. It will provide you with a lot of information about ETH Zurich and your doctoral thesis, but also offer practical hints and tips about living in Zurich. Enjoy 🙂
Month: October 2016
Join the monthly meeting of the AVETH Politics Team. We will discuss the planned survey on supervision and mentoring and the changes on admission regulations for students. There will be news from the university assembly and the AVETH board. We’ve also invited Andreas Ritter to give us an update on the ASVZ commission. Everybody is welcome to join the discussion. For input or questions, please contact Romain or Martin directly.
Dear Postdocs and higher scientific staff: The next AVETH social event is coming up soon and we hope you will join us for some wine & cheese on Thursday evening, the 10th of November at Hönggerberg! The event is free of charge and open to all, but is limited to 60 participants with priority given to Postdocs. Please register by the latest Monday, 7th November.
Join AVETH for a pub-crawl to get to know the bar scene on Niederdorfstrasse and to meet new people on the tour. We start at 8 pm at Safari Bar and make our way along 3−4 bars (Oliver Twist Pub, Cabaret Voltaire & Andorra bar). The first drink during the event is free for every AVETH member and an accompanied non-AVETH member, willing to become a member. Feel free to join and leave the crawl at any point (contact host if you join along the way). No need to sign up, but helpful to give us an estimate!
