On Monday, December 5, 2011 AVETH Board gathered for its regular meeting. Here is short overview of the meeting.
Traditionally we opened our meeting with exchange of news. The Politics Working Group informed the Board about its disagreement with new version of AVL document currently under discussion at University Assembly. We AVETH Board agrees with PWG position. In addition we agreed to support move of the ETH Personal Committee to request ETH Board to increase real wages following the inflation rate.
During the meeting we decided to shift Coffee and Gipfeli in January 2012 to the second Wednesday, January 11, 2012. In Science City it will take will be hosted by VAC (Chemistry Association) and in Zentrum we will arrange it at D-ITET. Also, we fixed date of the Glühwein promotion and “AVETH Cup distribution”. The promotion event will take place on February 16, 2012.
ETH Big Band has asked AVETH Board for financial support to cover costs of new equipment. AVETH Board has agreed to sponsor ETH Big Band and support them with 1’000 CHF donation. We hope that ETH Big Band will play once for AVETH members at one of our events.
Roman Kappeler (former AVETH President) came up with an interesting project-proposal currently named as “Crazy Idea Symposium”. The Board agrees with its basic concepts and decided to elaborate the project in details.
