On February 23, 2012 the 36th General Assembly of AVETHtook place. There were reports from AVETH Board, Telejob and presentations of the following department associations: AMP, VAC, PSA, VMI, MAVT, MTEC, GESS. The new AVETH Board members and new president were elected. Thomas Mathis, Matthias Mast, Jeannette Boutter, Amr Abdellah, Stefan Schorsch and Vitalijs Butenko left AVETH Board. The new president of AVETH is Julián Cancino and new vice-president is Thomas Kinkeldei. Franziska Ullrich, Jürg Müller, Jürg Altwegg and Florian Emaury were elected to the AVETH Board. Also, we are glad to announce that department association at D-BSSE was accepted as official AVETH association. Moreover, the Politics Working Group (PoWoG) received official status and will be chaired by Florian Emaury. During the assembly interesting ideas were proposed by participants, for example, there is a proposal to organize the “Best Teaching Assistant Award”, organize introduction event for pupils, and arrange “Beer and Chips” evening for doctoral students.
