AVETH represents the non-faculty scientific staff on an ETH-wide level, while the "Fachverein" is a sub-section of AVETH for at the department level. "Fachvereine" are building the link between the AVETH (ETH-wide level) and the scientific staff working in the departments. If you are member of AVETH and there exists a "Fachverein" in your department, you are automatically a member of that "Fachverein" too. The "Fachverein" gets the uptodate member list in periodical intervals.
- AVETH does the membership management for the "Fachvereine"
- AVETH provides judicial aid
- The "Fachverein" gets part of the membership fees from AVETH (currently 50%)
- A "Fachverein" does not want to compete with AVETH but should rather be complementary to it.
- You find a list of all AVETH "Fachvereine" here
