Hot Topic 2011: Crossing Borders

With this initiative we expand the current Community topic. If a community wants to grow and develop, at some point it is going to cross borders. The limit of the border is your imagination. So we would like to drawn your attention to the following areas:

• In the professional dimension: Interdisciplinary - Crossing the border into other fields of research, reaching out to other research groups in other departments working on similar problems as you with perhaps interesting different approaches. Share and learn by exchanging perspective.
• In the cultural dimension: Intercultural - there are scientists from all over the world working at ETH. Would you like to learn and exchange cultural insight?
• In the social dimension: Interdepartmental - There are 16 departments at ETH. Wouldn't it be interesting to get to know people working in the building next to you?
• So why not expand our community of PhD students, postdocs and senior scientists, our professional perspective and our personal horizon?
