The Department of Health Science and Technology (D-HEST) Association of Scientific Staff has organized a panel discussion on PhD student employment. In 2015, ETH Zurich changed its employment regulations for PhD students. Official working hours were set at 100% for all PhD students and a system of five employment classes was introduced.

ETH has launched a new funding scheme: Postdocs can now apply for Career Seed Grants to obtain financing for their own research projects. These grants provide funding for the running costs of small, independent projects for up to one year. The next application deadline is on March 1st, 2016.
