Dear ETH Community,
As many of you are already aware, ETH is facing increasing budget cuts that threaten the future of scientific research and education. Recent political decisions have led to a reduction in public funding, with the upcoming EP27 (relief package) resulting in a staggering annual cut of 140 million CHF. This includes direct reductions in the federal contribution (78 million CHF) and cuts through critical funding bodies like SNSF, Innosuisse, and others.
This isn’t just about numbers; it’s about the future of science and innovation in Switzerland.
We cannot stay silent.
The work we do here at ETH is vital for innovation, scientific progress, and the prosperity of Switzerland. It’s crucial that we make our voices heard, together, as a united scientific community that cares deeply about the future.
Join us for the Rally for Science and Education on October 1st. Alongside students and scientists from all across Switzerland, we will take to the streets to show that science is made by people who care—people like you.
