Osteoporosis (OP)

Approximately 10 million osteoporotic fragility fractures occur every year and lead to over 400,000 deaths and health care costs in excess of US$80 billion. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 5 men at the age of 65 will experience a fragility fracture in their remaining lifetime. This condition is most concerning in post-menopausal women because estrogen acts as a regulator of bone remodelling and its loss causes uncontrolled high bone loss.
