We do care!

We do care”: New event series for university members with caregiving responsibilities
ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich are launching a joint event series to support students and staff with caregiving duties. The aim is to raise awareness, provide practical input, and foster exchange with experts and peers.
Caregiving for elderly parents, partners or children with health restrictions, or relatives abroad can be rewarding but often brings organisational, emotional, and time-related challenges. The event series “We do care – Impulses for university members with caregiving responsibilities”offers guidance on legal, technical, and psychological aspects as well as strategies for balancing studies, research, careers, and caregiving.
Kick-off: October 30, 2025 – Day of Caring for Dependants with an online keynote by Bettina Ugolini (UZH) on relationships between caregiver and supported person.
Further events will follow in 2026, covering topics such as assistive technologies, living wills, long-distance caregiving, and the mental load of caregivers.
Events take place online or in person and provide space for dialogue and community building.
More information and registration can be found on the event series website.
