AVETH Book Club

Do you also like to read the books that comment on our times and sometimes wonder who you can share your thoughts with? Audald and Jackie wondered the same, so they decided to host the first AVETH Book Club on November 15th at ETH Hönggerberg. They are going to kick off the book club with “Civilized to Death” by Christopher Ryan, a bolt antithesis to a central conviction of our scientific education and contemporary authors like Richard Dawkins and Steven Pinker: that civilisation, despite its drawbacks, made human life better, made the progress possible that thrives today’s high life standard, and continues to improve our lives.
