Seminar: IP in Academia: bring your idea to the market! 04.11.2022 16:30
Are you a student or a researcher with an idea for a potential start-up? Do you want to get in touch with key contacts of the start-up ecosystem, in Switzerland? Do you have questions about intellectual property and patenting law which you would like to discuss?
Then join our event at ETH Zurich!
As part of the Italian Innovation Day in Switzerland, AIRIcerca – the Italian Association of researchers in Switzerland – is organizing a unique event where IP experts, patent attorneys, CEOs and investors meet on the same day. You will have the opportunity to ask your questions to the experts and learn from them.
One of the first steps to launch your own start-up is to patent your idea. According to your market and product, this process could be different. In this event, you will have the possibility to learn more about patenting from a patent attorney and an IP manager, and how patenting applies in the academic environment. Fundamental concepts about main parts of a patent, european and swiss patent authorities will be introduced and explained.
The discussion will be enriched with ethical perspectives of patenting in Science (Italian Institute of Culture of Zurich) and will be concluded with a roundtable attended by start-up founders from ETH Zurich and investors in the Swiss market.
Among our speakers, we will have the honor to host the Scientific Attaché Dr. Luca Valenziano, from the General Italian Consulate of Zurich, and Dr. Melanie Johnson (Technology Transfer Office of ETH Zurich).
